Portion Basis UN/CEFACT code list.

Which portion of a weighed material a stated mass counts. Two masses may be summed only where their portion basis and their moisture basis both agree.

Label	Notation	Definition
Ash free	`ash-free`	The material excluding its ash content.
Contained substance	`contained`	The quantity of a named substance within a larger mass.
Gross	`gross`	Everything as weighed, including packaging, dunnage and tare.
Mineral matter free	`mineral-matter-free`	The material excluding its mineral matter.
Net	`net`	The material itself, excluding packaging and tare.
Payable substance	`payable`	The quantity of a substance a buyer pays for under a contract, after contractual deductions.
Recoverable substance	`recoverable`	The contained quantity of a substance reduced by an expected process recovery factor.
Unknown	`unknown`	The portion the stated mass counts is not known.
